                               WHY? HOW COME? WHAT IF?

These are questions I often find myself asking God. Any one of these when asked, and an answer given, often leads to my asking more questions. I’m a little like a young child who can ask the same question over and over or, ask so many questions that surely God would say the Fatherly  “because I said so ------ in the Bible” answer.

There are things that happen to my self or others that seem to make no sense whatsoever, and often to “good people” instead of “bad people”. I then ask the “why” or “how come” question. The “what if” question follows sooner or later.

I have questioned the very thought of the young dying before someone who has lived out their natural life. Natural disasters such as tornados, floods, forest fires, and earthquakes occur. Worse yet, war and killing worldwide and I can think of reasons why they happen to certain other countries, but when it happens in America, again the same questions arise that I usually ask.

Most of the answers to why, how come, and what if are found in the Bible. As a human I can find it difficult to understand the answers I find there. And there are those times I search and simply cannot find the answer I’m“ looking for”.

On the other hand --- these same questions can be asked of God when I inquire of Him the beauty of a sunrise or sunset, the stars, clouds, wind, rain, trees. The majesty of mountains, the flowers in a field, the birds that glide so smoothly in the air and the list goes on.

Better yet when I ask these questions of His creation, I ask why man, how come man, what if man, why some hear God and some don’t--- again the questions and no easy answer to satisfy all of my searching.

Truly God does have all the answers. Some He reveals and some He keeps to Himself. He gives me peace when I find no answer that pleases me. The bottom line for me is ---- God my Heavenly Father blesses me with faith no matter what happens to me or what questions I ask of Him.  He loved me first and that’s more than enough for me and more than I deserve.
